Audax Altitude Awards (AAA)

The Audax Altitude Awards, presented annually, aim to encourage participation in hilly events and to offer a challenge for those who do not ride the longest events but enjoy climbing.

Provided an event meets the required threshold of climbing, AAA points are allocated at a rate of 1 point for every 1,000m of climbing, rounded to the nearest quarter point, so:

  • 2,124m of climbing = 2.00 AAA points
  • 2,125m of climbing = 2.25 AAA points

Where riding a Calendar or Permanent event earns AAA points, the allocation is shown on the relevant events listing.

For DIY and Extended Calendar Events, the points allocations may be calculated by the Audax UK delegate after the ride.

Details of AAA achievement awards and recipients are here and the annual trophies are here.

If you enjoy hilly rides, you may also be interested in the Ordre des Cols Dur, which is also part of Audax UK. Any ride, not just AUK-validated events, may be counted towards its awards.
