The Golden Sheep
The Halifax Imps are a cycling club from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Their club kit is blue, gold and white in colour, and there are three rides on offer today which visit destinations with that colourway in mind.
This audax is the longest of the three events. The ride starts with climbs on quiet country roads through Wainstalls and Haworth before reaching Gargrave and ultimately Buckden, over Kidstones Pass. From there the route heads east to Masham where you can enjoy a pint of Golden Sheep, or simply pick up any receipt from other establishments in town. Following this, you will ride south to Askwith (via Askwith Moor) and Beamsley before making a return on faster roads with simpler routing, the aim of which is to try and make the return journey as worry free as possible. If you'd prefer a shorter route, 'The Blue Bell' and 'The White House' are offered as alternative rides, leaving at 9am and 10am respectively.
