Description

Sorry - the event is now full and closed. I will only reopen it if places become available and if so it's likely to be immediately before the event. (expected DNS's are factored into numbers of entries accepted)
A very popular event in previous years - Coast to Coast to Coast in day! Generally a very scenic and varied route, on very quiet roads and as flat as I can reasonably make it, but there's still a few climbs
Starting in Cresswell on the North Sea Coast the route goes across to Bowness on Solway on the Solway Coast before returning via Dalston and Hexham to Cresswell - A C2C2C in a 300km event.
If the weather is good, the views are fantastic, including Hadrians Wall, Solway Coast and Northumberland and the North Pennines.
The route has mainly gentle climbing and any steeper sections are very short, there's also a long relatively flat section in the middle. The current plan is to provide some basic food at controls at Gilsland (87km), Bowness (147km) and Hallbankgate (199km). There are very few other options for large sections of the route, more information in final details.
The section from Bowness to Hallbankgate is subject to change and will very much depend on whether the new Carlisle Southern link road and associated roadworks are completed. At present the draft route goes through the centre of Carlisle, as it did in 2024 event. It's a very low traffic option and some actually thought it was a much better option.
The intention is we'll also feed you at the end at the Village Hall, you'll probably need it.
Entries will be limited and the event will close when full. Entries open on 16/11/24 - be aware it's likely to be very popular.
