Highland Fling

Description

1000km cycling event starting from Harrowgate Hill, Darlington. Controls at Longtown, Castle Douglas, Arrochar, Helensburgh, Comrie White Church, Aberfeldy, Duns, Breamish Hall, Powburn, Boldon Colliery and Whessoe Parish Hall., plus 4 information controls.

Up the west coast of Scotland and around the sealochs, briefly into the Highlands and along the Silv'ry Tay, then back down the east coast of Northumbria, with three overnight controls en route.

Now re-opening for entries (until it's full again) on Monday 21st February 2022.

The route features a coast to coast, a tunnel and a ferry crossing (the fare is included in the entry cost, you don't need to pay the ferryman), and loads of bridges. Support on the route is an overnight feed stop on Friday night, sleep stops on Saturday and Sunday nights, plus other bits along the way.

NON-MEMBERS are welcome but need to register first. This is free - we ask you to do this so we can verify your contact details. You only need to register once and can then enter multiple events or in future convert to paid membership.

PARENTAL CONSENT is required for entrants under 18 years of age. This can be declared by the parent/guardian making an online entry on behalf of the under 18 rider. Otherwise, although an entry can be made online, the parent/guardian should complete and sign the parental consent form available here.
