Description

A challenging day out around Pendle Hill, Malham Cove and the Forest of Bowland. Only grim if you don't like glorious cycling country!
A new event for 2024. Start from Whalley and head up Pendle Hill, north to Malham Cove via Settle, then to Ingleton before turning south to cross Bowland Knotts, north again via The Cross of Greet before returning to Whalley via the Trough of Bowland. A big day out in glorious cycling country but with 207km, over 4xAAAs and the potential for challenging weather at any time of year, grim if you don't like such things. There is of course the shorter 'It's a Bit Grim Up North 100' if you are interested but fancy something a little less lumpy.

Either way, controls are commercial or info and there is either a postal finish or eBrevet upload to validate. Whalley is dead easy to find along the A59 from junction 31 of the M6 for any southerners tempted to venture north. There is free parking available near the start and it's even on the rail network too. Provisional RWGPS https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43544491
