Description

Back for 2025, a 200k Severn Bridge Series GOLD GRIMPEUR AAA-rated event with complimentary refreshments & food at the start and a Pub location finish.

It's a very audacious route with 3,750 m of climbing, but breathtaking as it takes you exploring the southern edges of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

It's a stunning but lumpy route with plenty of excellent views exploring some of the less well-known roads of South Wales.

In the northeast section of the route passes, you can see 4 Welsh castles to stop, view, and enjoy.

You will stop at the Castles of Abergavenny, Grosmont, Skenfrith & Whitecastle.

You can also ride past the entrance to Usk Castle; a 100m detour will take you to Clytha Castle if you fancy stopping there as well.

*While the Western Section allows you to Climb 'The Tyla,' the least known way up the Blorenge mountain (made famous by the Tumble climb). With its 400m of ascent on the little-used 'traffic-free' single track - part of the World Heritage site offering amazing views and scenery - Not to be missed !!!

The South Eastern Loop explores some of the quiet, remote lanes Wales has to offer.

You'll have aáCanal Side Coffee Stop at Goytre Wharf to enjoy before you tackle the first of the two 20%+ segment climbs in the Lanes of Wales on the day.

The northern section allows you to explore some of the National Cycle Network 'traffic-free' tarmac routes.

It is an event for experienced Randonneurs, capable of riding long distances in all conditions.

Free finishers patch for all finishers & an Event Medal available for purchase £4.00
