Description

This is the permanent version of the former calendar event. Validation by GPS and E-Brevet only(5 E-Brevet controls), can be started at any point on the route but the better start locations would be Matlock Bath or Parsley Hay. A tough ride around the Peaks, taking in some long off road cycle paths, including the Monsal and Manifold valley trails, great views with lots of climbing and off road sections, probably best ridden on a gravel bike, but it has been ridden on road bikes with 25mm tyres. Minimum speed 12kph so plenty of time(8.5 hours) to get around and enjoy the scenery.

The control locations pinned on the map top right, are the exact locations of the E-Brevet controls and your phone app will work within 250m of those pinned locations. These locations are also described in the route sheet, which can be downloaded below.

This is, in parts, an arduous ride over hilly, and exposed terrain. There are steep climbs and descents with some rough surfaces, please moderate your speed appropriately. You should study the route before setting out. You should carry food and drink, basic spares and tools, adequate clothing and lights.
