If you thought that the county of Cheshire is flat, this ride will soon put you right. The B5470 from Macclesfield through Rainow towards Whaley Bridge could be described as rather 'testing'. Not too testing though, as it counts for 1/2 AAA point. The high-point of the ride is at Bowstones from where, apparently, it is possible to see seven counties.

The B5470 frequently gets mentioned during winter, and not in a good way, so do not attempt this ride when the snow gates are closed!
