The Hailsham Venta 300

Description

308km cycling event starting from Hailsham, Freedom Leisure Centre. Controls at Buckbarn Services, Chichester Sainsbury, Sutton Scotney, Rogate Village Hall, Pyecombe and Hellingly Services Near Hailsham., plus 2 information controls.

A 308km event starting at and finishing near Hailsham, with commercial controls, 2 infos, a Village Hall feed at 213km and postal finish.

Since this event will be held during COVID Roadmap Stage 3, and before Stage 4, some restrictions will apply. Further details will be forthcoming once they are know. However, current understanding will include Staggered start, Rule of Six at Rogate together with Hand, Face and Space.

Ride validation using only normal BC receipts will be accepted since over 200km, with cards being sent to the Validation Secretary.

Starting from the Freedom Leisure Centre , Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, BN27 2AX lower 23hr (not 3hr) carpark.

Note that there are no toilets at the start so organise yourself before arrival there!

There are NO entries on the line.

The ride is based on a number of well tested stages that are currently followed on various El Supremo Permanents. The main difference is the inclusion of a Village Hall stop at 213km to ensure you all get feed and watered before the final final push home.

Stage 1 Hailsham to Buckbarn Services.
Stage 2 Buckbarn to Chichester Sainsbury Superstore.
Stage 3 Chichester to Sutton Scotney but avoiding the centre of Winchester.
(Hence why the Hailsham Venta 300 - well nearly!)
Stage 4 Sutton Scotney to Rogate Village Hall.
Stage 5 Rogate to Pyecombe 24hr Services.
Stage 6 Pyecombe to Hellingly 24hr Services, near Hailsham.

At the finish, riders should number each receipt obtained from the various controls and send, along with their SIGNED brevet card, to the organiser in the enveloped that will be supplied at the start.

RIDERS WISHING FOR THEIR VALIDATED BREVET CARD TO BE RETURNED, SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE A STAMPED ADDRESS ENVELOPE.........
