Durham & Northumberland redux

Description

200km cycling event starting from Cockerton, Darlington. Controls at Capheaton Cyclists' Cafe, Middleton-In-Teesdale and Cockerton.

This event has a mandatory route - you should follow the route instructions as closely as possible.

A homage to Joe Applegarth's classic 200 route taking in the northern coalfields and the hills of the leadminers, plus a visit to the famous cyclists' cafe at Capheaton. Just don't fetch along an old routesheet.

Endlessly choppy across County Durham and across the Northumbrian border, then down to the Tyne and into rolling terrain around the Tyne Valley back to Hexham, where the serious hills begin. After Folly Top, there are just a few clicks back to Cockerton. N.B. click 'Organiser's website' to see route.

NON-MEMBERS are welcome but need to register first. This is free - we ask you to do this so we can verify your contact details. You only need to register once and can then enter multiple events or in future convert to paid membership.

PARENTAL CONSENT is required for entrants under 18 years of age. This can be declared by the parent/guardian making an online entry on behalf of the under 18 rider. Otherwise, although an entry can be made online, the parent/guardian should complete and sign the parental consent form available here.
