200km cycling event starting from Tamworth, Staffordshire. Controls at Bramshall, Wem, Penkridge and Tamworth., plus 1 information control.

A 200km cycling event from outskirts of Tamworth. Fixed control at Bramshall & free controls at Wem & Penkridge plus 1 information control. Pub start with ample car parking, 2.5 miles from Tamworth Railway Station.

Revival of a 200km cycling event originally devised and organised by the late Geoff Cleaver and intended to appeal to novice and experienced 200km riders alike. Leaving the outskirts of Tamworth on mostly quiet undulating lanes the route heads through the Marchington Woodlands and on across Staffordshire to the town of Wem in Shropshire.

The return takes riders on a more southerly route with spectacular views across to the Shropshire Hills. After the control at Penkridge riders will cross Cannock Chase, the only real climbing of the day, before dropping back to Tamworth and the promise of good pub grub and beer.
